Market Access Manager

General Summary

The Market Access Manager is a key team member who serves as an internal and Acute Care Business Unit field resource for AVITA Medical. The Market Access Manager is responsible for executing reimbursement and health economic strategies to support successful patient access to the RECELL System under the supervision of the Senior Director, Market Access.

This position is principally responsible for:

· Managing the Market Access team’s efforts to develop favorable coverage policies for AVITA medical devices in the U.S.

· Providing field reimbursement support for the Acute Care Business Unit

· Supporting strategic Market Access projects

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage coverage development and field reimbursement support for AVITA Medical working with the Market Access team and key internal and external stakeholders.

· Monitor and analyze public and private payer activities and trends, including coverage, coding, and payment policies affecting AVITA Medical’s commercially marketed and emerging medical devices at the national and local/regional level with respect to patient access and customer satisfaction.

· Communicate coverage policy developments that impact both the short- and long-term reimbursement success of AVITA Medical devices and associated procedures to key internal and external stakeholders.

· Assist with the development of Market Access strategies for AVITA Medical products and indications.

· Serve as an internal resource and advocate for public and private payer reimbursement issues.

· Develop relationships with customers to create reimbursement successes and champions who will support AVITA Medical with payer organizations.

· Communicate complicated matters in a simple, structured way to internal and external customers.

· Create health economics and reimbursement materials with the Market Access team to assist with internal and external customer education.

· Develop and implement tools and processes to clearly communicate how reimbursement and economic considerations affect business plans and strategies in the Acute Care Business Unit.

· Execute and maintain centralized resources, i.e., coding guide(s) and other reimbursement and health economic resources, to assist business unit with standardized reimbursement communications and/or policy communications.

· Provide reimbursement and health economic support and training to AVITA’s Acute Care Business Unit’s commercial sales organization and key external stakeholders (e.g., hospitals, clinicians, investigator sites, professional societies) as appropriate.

· Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills in one or more areas related to reimbursement and health economics. The position requires the candidate to be current in the field and able to work in a wide array of settings.

· Bachelor’s degree in a life science, health economics, health policy, healthcare finance, business administration or related field required. Masters or advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum of 8 years of experience and functional responsibility in healthcare finance and/or medical device market access and program implementation.

· Demonstrated success and experience in developing positive coverage for new medical device technologies in support of product and new indication strategies.

· Deep knowledge of U.S. key public and private payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies, coding and coverage; health policy trends and current business challenges related to the medical device industry; and technology assessment.

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with outpatient and inpatient hospital coding (APC, MS-DRG, ICD-10), physician coding (CPT, HCPCS), Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer systems.

· Demonstrated competence in reimbursement and health economics and capable of articulating current reimbursement landscape to AVITA Medical staff, leadership and customers.

· Proven track record working with providers and payers to provide field reimbursement support and resolve reimbursement issues.

· Strong analytical skills and ability to balance strategic thinking with intricate planning and strong tactical execution with strong organizational and follow-up skills and a high attention to detail.

· Self-starter with ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.

· Strong communications skills and experience developing interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Ability to write and edit business documents (e-mails, memos, and PowerPoint presentations) clearly and succinctly in a timely manner, as well as the ability to ensure content accuracy, appropriate tone, and attention to detail to ensure work is of superior quality.

· Advanced personal computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook applications).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
